Dirt Road Musings

I am Dreaming of a Palmtree Christmas

Whoever thought it would be fun to have a white Christmas must not have lived on a country road.  If he had, he would be dreaming of snow plows instead.  It is now hour 48 of our white christmas and we haven’t seen any plows. With drifts in the 4-6 feet range, we are going nowhere quick.

I will admit that we thoroughly enjoyed being snowed in on Christmas day. The boys had all sorts of new toys to enthrall themselves all day long. It was incredibly relaxing, and I even managed a nap.

The boys have enjoyed the time in the snow, even if for short bits of time. Dad has dug out the driveway, and the jeep after he got it stuck in a snow drift.  Now, we wait for those blessed plows.  I will need to remember to send the driver a gift so that next time he stops at our home first.

Well, as much fun as being snowed in on Christmas with my four favorite boys is, I would much rather be with the same crew at the beach. Englewood FL here we come for Christmas ‘10!  (I have already checked into beachhome rentals!)
